Background:

Penryn Junior School is a co-educational community primary school administered by Cornwall Education Authority. It has more than 300 children whose ages range from 7-11 years. There are two or three parallel classes in each year group, with an average of 28 children in each class. This school is spacious, well-decorated and well-resourced. It has a fully networked computer system based on a computer suite that is linked to all classroom computers. It has a daily whole-school assembly of a broadly Christian character and religious education takes place in accordance with an agreed syllabus. At present there are out-of-school activities as follows, but these vary according to the time of year: netball, football. table tennis, choir, drama, and dance. Some children also get the opportunity to learn to play the violin, guitar, flute, fife, drum or clarinet.
