Background:
Callington Community College offers high quality education for students in the 11 to 18 age group living in Callington and surrounding villages, as well as providing community education for people of all ages. The college provides a wide range of facilities include a well resourced library, a sports centre with a fitness suite, sauna, sports hall, climbing wall and squash courts; extensive outdoor facilities including sport pitches, a floodlit all-weather five-a-side football pitch, tennis courts and an outdoor swimming pool. There is also a resource centre providing printing and copying services; a professional development and training centre and a dedicated sixth form centre. Other educational facilities of the college include: a drama studio, dance studio, music centre and six full equipped ICT rooms. In September 2000, the college became a member of a very exclusive club of Sports Colleges in England and also became a government designated training school. The school aims to provide a happy learning environment in which everyone is encouaged to achieve to the best of his or her ability.
