Background:
Helston School was founded in 1548, but the comprehensive is about 30 years old. It occupies a split site with the lower school (Years 7 and 8) housed in the former grammar school buildings. The school is set in twenty-two acres of playing fields, a ten-minute walk from the centre of Helston. The coming of the Technology College has transformed the ICT department and the use of ICT across the school and college. These activities include football, netball, cricket, hockey and rugby. The school aims to enable every child to reach his or her potential in a caring and supportive environment.
