Background:
Founded in the 1860s, Quethiock moved to a new building in 1995. It offers a 'broad, balanced and cohesive curriculum in which considerable emphasis is placed upon the needs of the individual child, and attainment of optimum levels of achievement'. A number of activities are available to pupils out of school hours, including netball, football, athletics, cross country running, country dancing, learning the recorder, choir, chess and computer club. There is a sports field adjacent to the school and a cross-country running event is hosted by Quethiock each year, which attracts over 500 competitors from across Cornwall. A part time teacher is the special educational needs (SEN) co-ordinator, and is assisted by a member of the school's support staff.
