Background:
The 'busy, happy' school was built 25 years ago to serve a 'rapidly' developing residential area between the two former mining towns of Camborne and Redruth. The 'good' facilities include nine classrooms, a hall, library, special educational needs (SEN) room, computer suite and project area. The 'broad and balanced' curriculum promotes 'a culture of continuous learning' for both pupils and staff, with an emphasis on 'real and relevant' cross-curricular work. Work is always geared towards each child's ability, and 'high priority' extra support is available for the high proportion of children with SEN. It was 'very proud' to have been the first school in the south west to be awarded the Investors in People award. A variety of extra-curricular musical and sporting activities is offered, and sports teams sometimes compete against other schools. 'Regular' educational visits take place, with older pupils participating in residential visits. Parents are expected to contribute to the school's 'genuine teamwork'.
