Background:
Newlyn School was built in 1923, with an additional development completed in 1996. It is situated in a 'beautiful environment' comprising 'well matured' gardens, a 'large' sports field, hard play area and a patio area, all of which overlooks Newlyn Harbour. School buses leave from Gwavas Estate and Forbes Road and there are 'frequent' scheduled buses in Newlyn. Extra-curricular activities include football, rugby, tag rugby, netball and cricket. Pupils also take part in athletics, cross-country and swimming events. The school'supports local charities. Newlyn aims to 'ensure that all children gain qualities to enhance knowledge, understanding and skills for their personal development in school and the wider community'.
