Background:

Perranporth Community Primary School was founded in 1898. The school building was built in 1961 and since that time a number of additions and changes have been made to it. The main building now boasts six classrooms, a hall, a library, an ICT Suite, a designing and making room together with smaller teaching spaces. A portable classroom is also used for older children. Many of the children attend after-school clubs and all enjoy the wide range of outdoor and adventurous activities provided across the school year. Learning out of doors begins in the early years within the grounds and moves out into the local environment. Younger children enjoy day expeditions to places of local interest. Teams from the school are currently local champions in football, cross-country running, athletics and Cornish dancing. The school also enjoys a good reputation for its dramatic and musical presentations. The school has a welcoming ethos of openness, honesty and mutual respect.
