Background:

Trewidland is a co-educational community primary school that serves the villages of Trewidland and St Keyne. The building lies on the slopes of East Looe valley in beautiful countryside. It was re-roofed in 1987 and the heating reorganised in 1988 when the school house came into use. There are three main classrooms, a library, a study support room and a new hall with a food servery. In 1988 an adjacent field was purchased to be used as a playing field, with a small football pitch. The school grounds provide a rich source for environmental study and a nature trail is being developed. The school provides a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and clubs. These include football, chess, art, junk band, music club, recorders, gardening club and drama. The school holds regular events and takes part in many of the local events and celebrations. The school aims to provide a happy and secure community environment in which children and adults feel confident enough to express their thoughts and feelings.
