Background:
Werrington School was originally opened on October 2nd 1848. By 1873 the building had been enlarged and two schools were operating, one for boys and one for girls. In 1876 the two schools were merged and became a board school with a headmistress in charge. The school encourages healthy competition in a variety of sports including football, cricket, rounders, netball, athletics, swimming and running. The school aims to provide a happy, secure, balanced and stimulating learning environment, which encourages all individuals to achieve, grow and develop.
